Something I really don't want to talk about...

...but I'm going to admit that I think I'm starting to develop RSI.
I noticed it about two weeks ago. Pain in my wrist and arm and a numb feeling up to my shoulder. Of course I ignored it, what else I'm I supposed to do!
I took it easy on the the computer and then even easier, but the pain didn't go away. Finally I admitted it to Michel who told me to be very careful and not let this get out of hand.
However, what does this mean? Can I not use the computer at all anymore (please not that...) or should I just cut down on computertime? Will this pain (which also bothers me in other activities now) go away again and can I do something about it? Should I go to the doctor?
Even though I'm pretending that nothing's wrong, I am slightly worried...
Can anyone help me with this?

Well, after this bit of depressing talk a nice photo of a lovely package I received last week. It was actually a very special package because I'd won it!! Amy celebrated her 100th post on her blog by giving away a few presents and one of them was mine, yay!

I was so amazed when I saw what she put in it. A whole pile of wonderful fabrics which I'm going to make into concentration cards plus some goodies. Thank you so much for your generosity, Amy!!

And do you know what I'm about to do now? THIS!
I promise I'll show photos no matter how they turn out...

Ok, just one more photo of one of the beautiful things that just grow in our garden... aren't we lucky?!

*going to give my poor arm some rest now*

My arm has been completely killing me this week too, but I'm not sure what it is or what's causing it. It does feel much better now after returning from my yoga class. I'm taking a sewing break, though, because I notice most when I'm doing that.

Lovely package lucky you!

I am not sure what RSI is but it does sound terrible. Anything that prevents one from using the computer or even worse *gasp* crafting and sewing, must be dreadful! I hope you'll find a way to deal with it and it goes away soon.
Can't wait to see your concentration cards - such a neat idea :)

Take care!

My sister-in-law had the same thing, she had phisyo(i think) and she definately had an injection for the pain. Go to the doctor asap!!!!

I love the fabric you received. I'm sorry about your arm, but if it is RSI that can be managed. I am sure you will find a way to work around it. I get arthritis in my hands, so can't knit as much as I would like to (that makes me sound like an old lady doesn't it?) but if I do little bits at a time, it's not much of a problem. Looking forward to seeing the shrinky dink pins!

I suffer from RSI, mostly its not too bad, I first got it when I was 18 and sitting my A levels, It used to be really bad and I had to give up all my art (I did a-level and was going to do degree level) as some days I couldnt hold a pencil. I had physio for it though (2 courses) and these days its a lot better. Take it easy, and also think about things like your posture sitting at the keyboard etc. try and support your wrists by resting them on something when you type, you can buy a thing for this at computer shops, or just use 2or 3 books piled up. go to the doctor too and get it checked out, he may well give you anti-inflamatory tablets (like ibuprofen or stronger ones). I also have a splint thing I can wear if its bad.

thinking of you , email me if you want to ask anything else.
