To a faraway place!
Yesterday we went to visit my sister in Groningen.
Because Holland is such a small country we tend to think of any distance over 50 km as FAR! And Groningen is about 200 km from our house so it was a long journey.
But it was nice to drive through a part of Holland that we rarely ever go to. It's so much quieter there than where we live!
The children were little angels too in the backseat; and we didn't even have to quiet them down with sweets or toys... They were happy just to suck on their thumb (daughter) and dummy (son) and look out of the window.
My sister and her boyfriend (both students) live in the absolute centre of the city in an old bank-building. They have so much space and the views over the city are great. They are so lucky to live there!
Oh yeah, they cooked us up a very nice meal too :-)

Self Portrait Tuesday
Another tuesday, another selfportrait. As you can see I've taken a photo of a cd with a photo of me as child behind it; this month's theme being personal history it seemed appropriate. I like the way the lense is exactly in the middle of the cd, and also how I'm looking around the corner of course!

Spring is in the air!
Look at this!
The plants are already peeking their heads above the ground; soon they will have flowers.
Eventhough today was freezing, for me this means that spring is approaching. And that is so good, because spring is my favourite season!
And this year it will be even better since it will be the first year that we have a garden; I can't wait!

Pillowtalk
I love making patchwork-pillows at the moment.
It's easy and so much fun. The result makes me really happy!

Oxford here I come!
I've just booked a flight to Oxford!
I'm so excited!!!
I'm going to visit my sister who studies there. We'll also be going to London for a day (maybe two?) to visit some musea and SHOPS!
Yay!
I'll be gone for six days... six days without the children. I've never been without them for that long. Still, it will be nice to have a complete and total break.
I'm really looking forward to it!

Anna, the pear-girl
Meet Anna, doesn't she look lovely with her long eye-lashes and a pretty ribbon in her hair?!
What most people don't know (and Anna doesn't want the word to be spread), is that before her extreme make-over Anna used to be a pear!
A job well done isn't it?
Here a photo before she underwent the surgery; you wouldn't believe it if you didn't see the proof...
